Prestart QR Codes

Overview

Gearbox has an option to allow Fleet Number/Rego vehicle to be selected on the Prestart app via scanning a QR Code.

QR Code creation

If you need to create a QR code to scan, we recommend using either an online service, like https://qr.io/, OR, you can use Microsoft Word to create a QR Code.

Note the QR Code created MUST be text only, and is CASE SENSITIVE to your vehicle/asset.

Scanning a QR Code on Prestart

1. Open the Prestart app and Press the (1) Asset Selector

2. Then select the (2) QR Code scanner button

3. Line up the Camera to scan the (3) QR Code

4. 

   The scanned QR code will then select the Asset and take you back to the main screen, where you can perform:

   • Daily Checks
   • Faults
   • Load Sheet
   • Fuel
   • Events
   • Training 

Incorrect QR scan

If the QR scan does not go back to the main screen, and remains on the Asset selection screen, then the QR code was either set-up incorrectly, or, a vehicle was scanned that the User does not have access to.

The QR Scanned code will show the Text in the (4) Search field
