Configure Prestart Settings

How to Configure Prestart Settings and Checklist Types

Prestart settings allow you to customise how the Prestart app behaves for your team — from setting trailer limits to enabling spare fields and fault report options. This guide covers how to access these settings and explains each available option.

Accessing Prestart Settings

1. Click your User Icon in the top-right corner and select Integrations.
2. Select Edit on the Prestart section.
3. The Prestart Settings window will open, as shown below:
   

Available Settings Overview

1. Maximum Trailers Permitted

• Define how many trailers a truck can have (up to 6).
• Drivers will have the option to select the relevant trailer(s) when completing a Prestart.

2. Restrict Employee Vehicles

• Limit which vehicles a driver or employee can select in the Prestart app by enabling the Restrict employee vehicles checkbox. This setting restricts access based on the user's assigned Groups, Subgroups, and Vehicle Types.

3. Prestart Menu Label

• Change how the Prestart menu is labelled in the app (e.g. “Daily Checks”, “Driver Inspection”).

4. Spare Fields (1–3)

Optional custom fields that can be displayed in the app.

• Be given a custom label (e.g. “Location”).
• Be set to accept numeric values only, if required.

For example, you could label Spare Field 1 as “Location” to allow the driver to enter where the Prestart was completed.

Please note these spare fields will apply to all Prestart templates.

5. Checklist Type Selection

Enable the Allow checklist type selection option to assign questions to specific Prestart types:

• Start of Day
• End of Day
• Spare

Once enabled, each question can be tagged to appear in one or more of these types.

To rename these checklist labels, go to System Parameters and search for the following keys:

PRESTART_CHECKLIST_LABEL_1	Daily	Label shown for the first checklist type (e.g. Start of Day)
PRESTART_CHECKLIST_LABEL_2	Weekly	Label shown for the second checklist type (e.g. End of Day)
PRESTART_CHECKLIST_LABEL_3	Monthly	Label shown for the third checklist type (e.g. Spare or Custom)

Update the Value column to use your preferred terminology.

6. Display Vehicle Fault Reports as a Fail Option

When enabled, users can select an existing open repair or fault report when marking a Prestart item as Fail.

This helps reduce duplication by linking to an existing record rather than creating a new one.
