Overview
Gearbox allows you to assign service parts to a vehicle so that they’re automatically added to the job card when a specific service type is selected. Follow the steps below to add service parts to an asset.
This feature requires the Parts and Inventory module to be activated in your Gearbox subscription.
Inventory Impact
Parts added to a work order will first appear as Allocated in the inventory system. Once the work order is closed (whether it's for Service, Repair, or Tyre), the parts will be automatically deducted from stock.
How to Add Vehicle Service Parts
To assign service parts to a specific vehicle:
1. Go to Vehicles (1) in the left-hand menu.
2. Select the vehicle you want to add service parts to (2).
3. Click the Parts tab (3), then select Add Part (4).
4. Choose the part (5), enter the quantity (6), and select the relevant Service Type (7). Then click Create Vehicle Part (8).
5. Click Save and Close to finish.
What this does
Once configured, these parts will automatically appear in the job card when that Service Type is booked for the vehicle. This ensures consistent part usage and simplifies job card creation for your mechanics.
