Assigning Mass Limits

  • Updated
Overview

Gearbox allows you to assign mass limits to assets so drivers can record axle group weights in the Prestart app.

Before drivers can create load sheets in Prestart, mass limits must be correctly configured for each asset within Gearbox. This setup is essential to ensure accurate tracking and compliance with applicable mass management schemes.

Gearbox mass limits and load sheets are designed for standard vehicle configurations under GML, CML, and HML schemes.

GML mass limits must be configured for all Mass Accredited vehicles, as CML and HML cannot be used without a valid GML record.

To enable overload alerts in Prestart, vehicle mass limits must first be configured correctly in Gearbox.

Please note that we do not support PBS, Vehicle Approvals (VA), or any non-standard configurations, schemes, or approvals. For further clarification, please contact us.

Assigning a Mass Limit to an asset.

1. Click on Vehicles (1).

2. Select the vehicle (2) you want to assign a mass limit to.

3. Go to the Compliance tab (3) and click on Assign Mass Limit Type (4).

4. The first mass limit must be GML (5). Enter the values for Axle Group 1 & 2 (6,7), then click Create Mass Limit (8).

5. After assigning all mass limits, your vehicle should look similar to the example below (assuming GML is the only applicable mass limit).
