Caterpillar VisionLink Integration

  • Updated

Overview

Gearbox integrates with Caterpillar via API each night to retrieve odometer, hour-meter and fuel-usage readings. These readings are used in Gearbox to calculate services due and to track running costs per hour. Automatic readings from telematics are preferred over manual entries due to lower risk of user error. The Caterpillar API feed also ensures consistent and timely capture of readings.

You must have an active Caterpillar (CAT) account with API access and Gearbox administrator privileges to complete the steps below.
Matching logic: Gearbox records are matched to Caterpillar by Serial Number or Equipment ID. Matches are made against the Gearbox Fleet Number or VIN.
