Overview
Gearbox syncs with Mix Telematics via API every night to retrieve odometer and hour meter readings. These readings play a crucial role in Gearbox for calculating Services Due and tracking running costs per hour/km. Automatic readings sourced from telematics are preferred over manual entries due to their reduced susceptibility to user error. Furthermore, the API feed from Mix Telematics ensures consistent and timely capture of readings.
You must have an active MiX Telematics account and Gearbox administrative privileges to complete the below steps.
Gearbox uses vehicle 'Fleet Number', 'Registration' or 'VIN' to match Assets in Mix Telematics using the 'FleetNumber' or 'VinNumber' field, Please ensure these are matching within Gearbox and Mix Telematics for the integration to work.
Integrating with MiX Telematics
- Click on your (1) User Icon, then select (2) Integrations - scroll down and find "MiX Telematics" in the integration list and press (3) Setup
- Enter in your (4) Username and (5) Password. Fill out the (6) Client ID and (7) Client secret
- Set up (8) Group IDs *note you can Add additional Group IDs via the button
- Make sure to enable (9) Integrate MiX Telematics
- Once all the info is input, select (10) Get Readings to manually import the data the first time - then hit (11) Save once it's done.
Hour and odometer readings automatically sync every night. Additionally, users have the option to manually trigger an update at any time. To get the current readings, proceed with steps (1-3), then click (10) Get Readings
